Ditmas Park

July 2018

The first thing to know about Ditmas Park: there is no park. But if there’s any recourse, a collection of lawns in Brooklyn seems an acceptable consolation prize. The toy filled yards, sweeping willow trees and cheerily painted early colonial houses under the manicured oak growth constructs a pointalist portrait of post war suburbia. Which only makes it more strange that this enclave is surrounded by Flatbush.
